The Bar Comes to You

Wedding bar quotes are where most couples first feel the sticker shock, and it is usually because a full-service caterer is marking up alcohol they bought on your behalf. We do it the other way round. You buy the spirits, wine and beer yourself, at retail, in your own name. We bring everything else and charge one flat, all-inclusive price for it. That single change is why our couples routinely spend less than half what they were quoted elsewhere, while pouring better bottles than the caterer would have stocked.

Every wedding booking includes the portable bar and its styling, a full glassware inventory, the complete ice program, premium mixers and sodas, fresh-cut garnish and citrus, a custom printed cocktail menu with your names on it, RBS-certified and $2M-insured bartenders, genuinely good zero-proof options, and full setup and breakdown. Gratuity is appreciated but never required and never added to your invoice.

How a Wedding Bar Actually Fails

Almost every bad wedding bar fails in the same three ways, and all three are avoidable. First, the surge: a hundred and forty people finish the ceremony at the same second and walk straight at one bartender. We staff to guest count and add a second service point above about a hundred and twenty guests, so the line clears before the toasts. Second, ice: nearly everyone underestimates it, and by hour three the drinks are warm. We bring a full ice program sized to headcount and service hours, not a guess. Third, the menu: a long list slows every single order. We work with you on two signature cocktails, wine, beer and a real zero-proof drink — which serves faster, tastes better, and costs less to stock.

Your Menu, Your Bottles

About six weeks out we sit down with you and build the drink list. Usually that is two signatures that mean something to you, a house spritz, wine and beer, and a zero-proof cocktail that looks like everything else in the room so that guests who are not drinking are not handed a can. Then we send you a precise shopping list — brands, bottle counts, and where to buy — sized to your headcount and hours. Buy it at retail, keep the receipt, and return whatever stays sealed. You will almost certainly have bottles left over, and that is fine; it costs you nothing.

★★★★★

“We were quoted $6,400 by our caterer for the bar. We bought our own bottles for about nine hundred dollars, paid La Barra just over twelve hundred, and had better drinks than any wedding we have been to. Nobody waited in line once.”

Common Questions

What is included in the wedding bartender packages?

Everything except the alcohol: portable bar, glassware, ice, mixers, garnish, printed menu, RBS-certified insured bartenders, setup and breakdown.

Why do we have to buy our own alcohol?

Because it is legal in California, materially cheaper, and lets you pour the bottles you actually want. Unopened bottles are returnable at most retailers, so over-buying costs nothing.

How many bartenders do we need for our wedding?

One per 50 guests is our rule. 30-50 guests: one bartender. 75-100: two. 150-200: three, plus a second service point.

How far in advance should we book?

Six to nine months for peak season Saturdays. We will tell you honestly if your date is still open.

Do you provide non-alcoholic options?

Yes, and we take them seriously. Every wedding includes a proper zero-proof cocktail served in the same glassware as everything else.
