Twenty-one miles of coastline, a canyon full of working ranch venues, and a residential strip where a backyard party can mean a bluff overlooking the Pacific. We built our Malibu kit for exactly that: weighted bar bases for wind, generator-independent setups for canyon properties, and a load-in plan that survives PCH traffic.

Malibu weddings run on a specific rhythm: golden-hour ceremony, cocktail hour with the ocean behind you, then dinner as the marine layer rolls in. Our bartenders are staged and pouring the second your ceremony ends — no gap, no line. We build a two-signature-cocktail menu with the couple, keep a clean beer-and-wine lane moving for volume, and print menus that photograph well against a Malibu backdrop. For ranch and vineyard venues we bring our own ice program and a full glassware inventory, so you are not renting from three vendors to get one bar.

Founding client rates begin at $695 for Intimate — 30 to 50 guests, three hours. Signature is $1,195 for 75 to 100 guests over four hours; Grand is $2,395 for 150 to 200 guests over five hours. Bartenders, the portable bar, premium mixers, fresh garnish, a full ice program, glassware, menu design, and complete setup and breakdown. Alcohol is yours to buy. At Calamigos Ranch and Saddlerock Ranch we build to the venue's designated bar footprint, and we carry weighted bases for anything set on sand or loose canyon ground off Kanan.
You buy the alcohol at retail under your own name and we pour it. California ABC law prohibits us from purchasing, selling or transporting liquor, which is exactly why the model works in your favor. We send a bottle-by-bottle list. Most Malibu couples shop the Cross Creek and Pacific Coast Highway stores, or stock up inland before driving out.
For 150 guests across five hours, budget roughly 45 to 55 bottles across spirits, wine and sparkling. Malibu weddings run long and outdoors, so hydration and lighter drinks matter more than raw volume. Bluff-top receptions at Malibu Rocky Oaks turn cold after sunset and consumption shifts toward brown spirits — we account for that when we build your list.
Yes. Sealed, unopened bottles are returnable at most California retailers with your receipt, so overbuying is low risk. We keep unopened stock boxed and dry through service, which matters in canyon humidity and the coastal fog off Broad Beach. At breakdown we hand the remaining inventory back to you, counted and ready for the return trip.
For a private event on private property where alcohol is free to guests, California ABC requires no liquor license — a permit is only needed if alcohol is sold. Public beaches are different: Zuma and Point Dume require a permit from the LA County Department of Beaches and Harbors, and alcohol is prohibited on Malibu beaches absent that permit.
Only with a permit. Alcohol is prohibited on Malibu public beaches unless you hold authorization from the LA County Department of Beaches and Harbors, and that process takes weeks. Private beachfront estates along Broad Beach and Point Dume are far simpler. If you are set on public sand, start the permit early and we will build to whatever it allows.
Yes. All bartenders carry RBS certification, required statewide since July 2022, and we hold a $2 million liability policy. Calamigos Ranch, Saddlerock Ranch and Adamson House all require a certificate of insurance naming them as additional insured — we issue that document at no charge, typically within a day of your request.
One bartender per 50 to 75 guests, trending to one per 50 with a full cocktail program. Past roughly 150 guests we add a second service point and a third bartender; past 200 we add a barback. At sprawling properties like Saddlerock Ranch, a second bar placed near the dance floor beats a single long line every time.
Six to nine months out for peak-season weddings, four to eight weeks for smaller off-season events. Calamigos Ranch and Cielo Farms weekends between May and October are claimed early, and our calendar tends to follow theirs. Roughly 90 minutes in, 45 minutes out. Canyon venues off Kanan and PCH often mean a longer carry from the parking area, so we build an extra half hour into the arrival window. We need load-in access within about 100 feet of the bar position, or a shuttle path the venue can confirm for us in advance.
We plan for it. Bluff-top sites like Malibu Rocky Oaks and the ridges above Cielo Farms get real afternoon wind, so we use weighted bar bases, low-profile garnish stations, covered ice wells and glassware that will not walk off the rail. Sand setups near Point Dume get the same weighted footing. Nothing on our bar should be chasing the breeze.
No. We arrive fully self-contained with our own water and a sealed ice program in insulated transport — no outlet, no hose, no sink. That is essential at canyon estates off Kanan Dume where the nearest power drop sits a hundred yards from the ceremony lawn, and at beachfront properties where the bar is placed far from the house.
Yes. We build two to four signature drinks around your menu and the setting — coastal weddings favor bright, citrus-forward, long drinks that hold up in afternoon sun. Printed menus come in English and Spanish. We match the shopping list to the final menu so you buy exactly what gets poured at Cielo Farms or your Point Dume estate.
Yes, and we treat them as real drinks. Fresh citrus, house syrups, proper glassware, real garnish — a guest who is not drinking at your Adamson House reception should not be handed a soda in a plastic cup. Give us your zero-proof count in advance. Our team serves guests 21 and over only and checks ID at the bar.
