Mobile Bartender in Los Angeles

Quick answer

La Barra Co. provides RBS-certified bilingual mobile bartenders across Los Angeles County from $795 all-inclusive. The working ratio is one bartender per 50 to 75 guests: $795 covers 30–50 guests with one bartender, $1,495 covers 60–100 with two, $1,950 covers 100–150 with two, and $2,795 covers 150–200 with three. Bartenders arrive with the bar, glassware, ice, mixers and garnish; you buy the alcohol separately, which is what keeps the total below a caterer's per-head bar line.

Bartender only, or bartender plus the bar?

This is the first fork and most quotes skip it. If your venue already has a bar structure, you need people. If you are hosting in a backyard, a loft or a rented hall with nothing behind the counter, you need the bar too.

La Barra Co. does the second: RBS-certified bartenders arrive with the bar, the glassware, the ice, the mixers, the garnish and the printed menus. You buy the alcohol yourself, which is the dry-hire model and the reason the total lands lower than a caterer's per-head bar line.

If what you actually want is the bar furniture without staff, we wrote the honest comparison: bar rental vs mobile bar service.

How many bartenders do you need?

The working ratio for a full bar is one bartender per 50 to 75 guests. Below that the line forms, above it you are paying for someone to stand still. Two factors push the ratio down: a cocktail-forward menu, and a single service window where everyone arrives at once.

What RBS certification actually means

Since July 1, 2022, California requires every person who serves alcohol to hold Responsible Beverage Service certification, verified through the state ABC. Every La Barra Co. bartender holds a current RBS and can produce it on request.

An ABC seller license is a different credential, required only for businesses that sell alcohol. We work dry-hire, so we do not sell it — which is why RBS is the credential that governs service in our model.

On insurance we say the same thing here that we say on our home page: we carry general liability for property damage and injury at events, and liquor liability insurance is currently in process. If your venue requires proof of specific coverage before your date, ask us and we will tell you honestly what we have.

Where our bartenders work

Los Angeles County end to end: the Westside and Beverly Hills, the Valley from Encino to Studio City, DTLA lofts, East LA and the South Bay. We also cover Orange County and San Diego.

Bilingual, and that is not a footnote

Our bartenders work in English and Spanish. At a quinceañera, a Mexican wedding or a family party where the grandparents do not speak English, a bartender who can take an order in Spanish changes how the night runs. It is the most common reason clients tell us they called us instead of someone else.

Frequently asked

How much does a mobile bartender cost in Los Angeles?

La Barra Co. charges $795 for Intimate (one bartender, 30-50 guests, 3 hours), $1,495 for Signature (two bartenders, 60-100 guests, 4 hours), $1,950 for Premier (two bartenders, 100-150 guests, 4 hours) and $2,795 for Grand (three bartenders, 150-200 guests, 5 hours). Those are all-inclusive totals with no mandatory gratuity and no equipment charges added at the end. You buy the alcohol separately, which is the dry-hire model.

How many bartenders do I need for my party?

One bartender per 50 to 75 guests for a full bar. Fewer than that and a line forms; more and you are paying for idle time. Push the ratio toward one per 50 if your menu is cocktail-heavy or if all your guests arrive within the same half hour.

Do your bartenders have a license?

Every La Barra Co. bartender holds current California RBS certification, which the state has required of every alcohol server since July 1, 2022, and can show it on request. An ABC seller license is a separate credential required only for businesses that sell alcohol; we work dry-hire, so we do not sell it.

Can I hire just the bartender without the bar?

Our packages include the bar, glassware, ice, mixers and garnish because that is the setup most Los Angeles venues and backyards actually need. If your venue already has a built bar and you only want staffing, tell us when you ask for a quote and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Are you insured?

We carry general liability insurance for property damage and injury at events. Liquor liability insurance, the specialized policy for alcohol-related claims, is currently in process. We state this plainly rather than implying coverage we do not yet hold. If your venue requires proof before your date, ask and we will tell you exactly where we stand.

Do your bartenders speak Spanish?

Yes. La Barra Co. bartenders work in English and Spanish. For quinceañeras, Mexican weddings and family events across Los Angeles it is often the reason clients choose us.

How far in advance should I book a mobile bartender?

Four to eight weeks for a Saturday in peak season, two to three weeks off-peak or midweek. Last-minute dates are sometimes possible; text us and you will get a real answer rather than a form.
