How many bartenders do I need for my guest count?

Quick answerRoughly one bartender per 50 guests for a standard event — that's how La Barra Co.'s packages are built. 30–50 guests: 1 bartender. 60–100: 2. 100–150: 2 at a double service point. 150–200: 3 with a 12-foot double bar. A heavy cocktail menu, guests arriving all at once, or an all-night open bar each push you up a tier.

The full answer

The honest rule is roughly one bartender per 50 guests for a standard event, and that is exactly how our packages are built.

30 to 50 guests: one bartender (Intimate). 60 to 100: two bartenders (Signature). 100 to 150: still two bartenders, but working a double service point — two lines instead of one — which is Premier, and it exists specifically to kill the queue. 150 to 200: three bartenders and a 12-foot double bar (Grand).

Three things push you up a tier: a heavy cocktail menu instead of beer and wine, a guest list that arrives all at once instead of trickling in, and an open bar running the whole event rather than a limited service window.

If you are between two tiers, tell us the arrival pattern and we will tell you honestly which one you need. Overbuying a tier helps nobody.
