A friend behind a plastic folding table does not scale. By the time guest 40 shows up, the ice is slush, somebody is pouring warm Prosecco into a red Solo cup, and the "fun" person you drafted has not actually talked to anyone in two hours. Hiring a bartender in Los Angeles is the difference between an event and a bar line that becomes the event. A few specifics on what that actually buys you:
Think of us as beverage catering without the per-head markup — a boutique bar operation that treats your event like our only event.
Three tiers, each all-inclusive, each priced the same way: client provides the alcohol, we provide everything else. Gratuity is appreciated but never required and never automatically added.
Each tier includes portable bar setup, full glassware, the complete ice program, premium mixers and sodas, fresh-cut garnish, a custom printed cocktail menu, bartenders, and full setup and breakdown. You buy the alcohol at retail. That is the whole quote.
Travel across LA County is included in the quote. The neighborhoods below are the ones that fill most of our calendar — if yours is not listed, text us anyway, chances are we are already working your zip code this month.
Every booking in Los Angeles arrives with the full kit. There is no "bartender only" line item and no equipment rental to chase down separately.
Our calendar is roughly half weddings and private celebrations, half corporate. In practice that looks like:
Roughly a third of our Los Angeles bookings are bilingual events — quinceañeras adultas, bodas, Sunday carnitas backyards that run past midnight. Every bartender on our roster speaks working Spanish and most speak it fluently. We build cocktail menus that pair with the food — palomas with carnitas, mezcal cocktails for tacos de barbacoa, agua fresca-based zero-proof options for abuela — not a generic LA cocktail list dropped onto a Latino event.
Every bartender on a La Barra Co. booking is California RBS-certified (Responsible Beverage Service) and we are California ABC compliant. We provide written RBS and compliance documentation to venues and building management on request — Vibiana, Hummingbird Nest Ranch, and most LA private estates accept our compliance paperwork without a follow-up call.
No. Gratuity is appreciated but never required and never automatically added. The number on the quote is the number you pay.
Weddings: six to nine months out. Corporate events and private parties: three to six weeks is usually fine. Peak holiday season (late November through mid-December) is typically booked out by early October.
Yes — that is the model. California law allows the client to buy and provide the alcohol in their own name. You pay retail (materially less than a caterer's bar package) and unopened bottles go back to the store. We bring everything else: bar, glassware, ice, mixers, garnish, and the bartenders.
Yes. Roughly half our LA calendar is corporate — launches at Smoky Hollow Studios in El Segundo, post-conference receptions downtown, firm holiday parties in Century City, board dinners in Culver City. We handle W-9, compliance paperwork, and dock-booking paperwork before you ask.
Tell us the date and the guest count and you will have a real price the same day — not a brochure, not a callback next week.
